One of my awesome, multi- talented friends, Jamaican recording artist Makeida "Keida" Beckford has won the awards for Best Female Singjay and Best New Female Artiste in the "The Star" People's Choice Awards!!!
It makes sense that she would win of course, because who wouldn't love Keida! Her music is popular (Bubble Up, Hot It Up) and fun but it's also real (75, Jamaican Boy), a combination that's hard to find...and that's just who she is; fun and bubbly, definitely not lacking in personality, but she is well grounded in what really matters in life.Let's not forget the ladies who were nominated alongside Keida. Damn! Jamaica has some talented people! Well done chicas! Jamaica's music has been getting better and more interesting over the past two and a half years and you all are a part of that.
This post is just to say "Congrats, Keida!!!" and to have it set in stone (its on the internet so that's just as good as stone ;) ) that you will go further than you ever dreamed in life.
