If I were a bride...*hint hint* ;)

Soooo... Since the first 3 posts were about the life in "Art. Makeup.Life" , this post can be about makeup. It's about time. Sheesh!!

This is one of a few bridal makeup looks that I like and would totally wear myself. The object of makeup on your wedding day is, at the most basic level, to help you, the bride, look as fresh and flawless as possible for the entire day.

A bride always has a choice as to what kind of look she wants...and that can be anything. There are no rules, but it is always wise to take some time to think about how you'll want to remember yourself looking on your wedding day. Once you're sure what you want go for it!

This look is more of a natural, neutral, fresh look, with dewy skin and a nude pink mouth. I'd sooo wear this look to a wedding. I'd wear it even if I wasn't the bride---heck I'll wear it around the house tomorrow!

The thing with makeup is that you have to exaggerate certain shadows, highlighted ares and features that you want to play up. That can leave you looking too heavily made up in real life but stunning in pictures. With bridal makeup it's the artist's job to create a balance between the two so you can be stunning in real life and your wedding photos.

See what difference removing the lashes makes!?!

I love this stuff!!

p.s.- heeyyyy, good ideaaaaa!!!! how bout I do a bridal blog series of different styles of bridal makeup!!! hmmmm.....

A first time for everything.

Hello y'all. I'm blogging---from the airport. I'm trying to remember that sometimes when life seems like it's going the wrongest way ever, it's usually just to give you more propelling power in the the direction that you want it to go.Have an awesome rest of the long weekend my JA peeps.

(Thanks to my hunni for being so patient with my early morning/late night traveling melt down and then waking up and driving me to the airport.)

So guess who had an eyebrow grooming scissors in her hand luggage...as well as a nice big thing of St. Ives Apricot scrub that was well over the liquid oz. limit. Here's a clue---

It was this chick.

Procras.....I'll get to it in a sec... soon... tomorrow ...

Procrastination is as dangerous to your life as doing hard drugs. I stand by that statement....soon.... gimmie a sec...

But seriously. I do stand by that. It is a habit that is VERY DIFFICULT to break, and like all bad habits it usually starts off small.

People tend to procrastinate when they have something really important to do that they are afraid to do, or when there's something
bothering them in the back of their mind. Sometimes you don't even know what the thing is that's the REAL issue.

I have just had a jumbo sized not so great event in my life and , hells to the yeah, i have gotten very little done in the past few days. This made me realize how, at least in my case, procrastination is a way to stay somewhat inside my comfort zone. It seems to be a defense mechanism to protect my heart and soul from any more harmful junk or disappointment. Sometimes (well MOSTLY ALWAYS), however, that's not what you need if you want to grow as a human being --- and that's what I want to do. So today I pushed myself a little. Otherwise it'd really easy to do nothing with my life for the rest of my life. That's not a good look.

So today:

I did a little cleaning and organizing. Things were getting a little out of hand. I'm for sure not about to show before pics. lol.
Then I did a light sweep of my room to get rid of the dust bunnies that mirrored the state of my procrastination ravaged mind. (I'm getting into this hahaha!!!)

I also watched the travesty called The Last Airbender today... oh boy. -_- "" Glad I watched it tho.

Then I went to the kitchen and made awesome spicy lentil curry, and my yogurt is a-settin' as I type this bloggy.... which also has taken me a ridiculous amount of time to type hahaha! That's more than i thought I'd get done today, and I'm glad I did it. :D

My name is Nicki, and I'm a procrastinator.

Love, Nicki.

p.s. -You would freaking love my lentils as much as i love Sons of Anarchy. ;) yummy yummy yummy....

Undies: I don't like 'em!!!

To christen this blog I'd like to state that I do not like underwear. lol This is a statement of pure fact. Don't get me wrong. Undies can be mad cute sometimes...deceptively so. It's weird to say it, but I can remember every nice, awesome fitting, really comfy (and cute), feel-like-I'm-not-wearing-anything pair of panties I've ever had!

The cutest and most comfy undies I've come across are:
Hanes No Ride Up "String" Bikini cut panties. they are awesome ...and they really don't ride up!!!!!

And to all those who say it's gotta be a pair of granny panties to be comfortable...I have no idea what you're talking about. Granny panties are responsible for some of the most inconvenient wedgies. They should be outlawed. Why do you think grannies are so cranky? Nobody likes a wedgie. ;)

Have a wedgie-free day!!
